Originally from Colombia, Francisco moved to New Zealand in early 2018 Francisco was High Performance Coach at ClubMed Academies in Port St Lucie, Florida, where he worked closely with Head Coach and Director Gabe Jaramillo in developing world- class players such as Maria Camila Osorio (current ITF singles ranking – 5), Kacie Harvey (Current ITF singles ranking – 80), Nicole Melichar (Current WTA doubles ranking – 18), Tigre Hank (Davis cup player and ATP singles ranking – career-high ranking - 416), and Alejandro Gomez (Davis Cup player and current ATP doubles
ranking - 316, singles – career-high ranking - 352). Francisco reached number 1 in Colombia at under-18 level and was coached by Jaime Cortes (former coach of ITF number 1 junior Juan Sebastian Gomes and current coach of Amanda Anisimova). He competed on ATP Tour Challengers in South America, ITF futures and ITF junior tournaments. He went to the United States on a tennis scholarship with NCAA school Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama, where he graduated as a Bachelor in Psychology. During the 2018-2019 session, Francisco competed in Premier 1 for Tawa-Lyndhurst Tennis Club, winners of the pre-Christmas and post-Christmas Men’s Premier Division 1 league. Francisco was selected as the Tennis Central Premier 1 Male player of the year for the 2018-2019 season.
Francisco is currently doing the 120-hour Junior Development Course, an internationally recognised coaching qualification, which he expects to be complete this year.
